Dynamic Barcelona vs. Barcelona Elite: which 2-person infrared sauna is right for you?
Both belong to the same Dynamic Barcelona Sauna family — same Canadian hemlock cabin, same chromotherapy, same 2-person footprint. The differences come down to heater technology, EMF level, and a few inches of interior room. Here's exactly how they compare, and how to pick the right one.
A quick overview
The Dynamic Barcelona Sauna is the brand's flagship entry into 2-person FAR infrared wellness — six carbon-fiber panels, low EMF (< 5 mG), and a standard 120V plug. The Dynamic Barcelona Elite takes that same architecture and swaps the heaters for PureTech™ Ultra-Low EMF emitters, drops EMF to under 3 mG, and adds a slightly wider interior bench.
In other words: you're not choosing between two different saunas — you're choosing between two versions of the same sauna, calibrated for two different intensities of use.

Barcelona vs. Barcelona Elite
Same trusted Dynamic Barcelona Sauna craftsmanship — two heat profiles to match how you sweat.

Dynamic Barcelona

Dynamic Barcelona Elite
- You want the lowest entry price into FAR infrared.
- A < 5 mG EMF rating already meets your needs.
- You'll use it 2–4 times per week for shorter sessions.
- You want the lowest possible EMF (under 3 mG).
- You sauna daily and want a steadier 140 °F+ hold.
- You'd rather have an extra 3" of shoulder room inside.
Heating technology & EMF
Both saunas use six FAR infrared panels positioned along the back, sides, calves, and under the bench, so heat envelops you from multiple angles instead of radiating from a single source. That layout is identical. What differs is what's inside the panels.
Barcelona — Carbon Fiber
Long-wave FAR infrared from carbon-fiber panels. Even, deep-penetrating warmth at 140 °F with EMF readings under 5 mG — well within accepted safe daily-use levels.
Elite — PureTech™ Ultra-Low EMF
Engineered FAR emitters that suppress EMF to under 3 mG — roughly 40% lower than the standard Barcelona. Holds 140 °F+ more steadily for longer, more consistent sessions.
Why this matters: if you plan to sauna daily — or you're EMF-sensitive — the Elite's lower readings and steadier hold are worth the upgrade. If you're using the cabin a few times a week, the Barcelona's standard low-EMF rating is already excellent.
Comfort & interior space
Both cabins have the same 39" × 36" exterior footprint and 73" height, so they fit the same room. Inside is where the Elite buys you a little more breathing room.
Barcelona interior
33" W × 69" H × 34" D
Comfortable for two adults sitting upright. Solo users get plenty of room to stretch out.
Elite interior
36" W × 70" H × 33" D
3 inches wider at the bench — noticeably more shoulder space for two adults sitting side by side.
Build, materials & assembly
Identical here. Both are built from reforested Canadian Hemlock with 6mm interior and exterior planks, finished in honey dark stain on the outside only (interior wood is left raw so nothing leaches into heated air). Both ship with a 1/4" tempered glass door, chromotherapy lighting, MP3 aux input with two speakers, dual interior/exterior LED control panels, and an interior reading light.
- Hypoallergenic, low-resin Hemlock that won't off-gas at sauna temperatures.
- Buckle-clasp wall assembly — typically 30–60 minutes with two people, no drilling required.
- Plugs into a standard 120V/15A household outlet — no electrician needed.
Running cost & energy use
The Elite draws slightly more power (1.6 kW vs. 1.45 kW) because of its ultra-low EMF heater architecture. In practice the difference is pennies per session.
Barcelona
~15 – 25¢ per 30-minute session at typical U.S. residential electric rates.
Elite
~18 – 28¢ per 30-minute session — under $10/month even with daily use.
The verdict
Quick answers
Are the Barcelona and Elite the same size on the outside?
Yes. Both have a 39" W × 36" D × 73" H exterior footprint, so if one fits your room, so does the other.
Is the EMF difference actually noticeable?
Both are well within safe daily-use thresholds. Below 3 mG (Elite) is preferred by people who are EMF-sensitive or plan to sauna daily for 30+ minutes; below 5 mG (Barcelona) is the standard most experts consider safe for regular home use.
Do they both plug into a normal outlet?
Yes — both run on a standard 120V/15A household outlet. No electrician, no panel upgrades, no 240V wiring required.
Which one heats up faster?
The Barcelona is a touch faster (20 – 30 min vs. 25 – 35 min for the Elite), but the Elite holds 140 °F+ more steadily once it gets there.
Do I get free shipping on both?
Yes. Both saunas ship free from our Ontario, California facility, typically arriving in 3 – 7 business days via curbside freight.
